Information

Sizewell C is a landmark project to design, plan and build a new nuclear power station next to Sizewell B on the Suffolk coast. The power station would generate enough low carbon, reliable electricity for six million homes and would run for 60 years, saving nine million tonnes of CO2 for every year of operation. As well as helping to tackle the climate crisis, Sizewell C will deliver a boost in jobs, training and education in the East of England. There will be 25,000 job opportunities during the 9-12 year construction period and 900 skilled jobs when the power station is operational. The project is working with its supply chain to create at least 1,000 apprenticeships during its construction, and continues to work with schools, colleges and other education providers to ensure local people have access to skilled, long-term sustainable careers. The company is working with the Chambers of Commerce to ensure local businesses are ready for the opportunities the project brings, which include an estimated lifetime contribution of £4 billion to the regional economy.
